Honda CR-V Resale Value Malaysia — RW & RT Guide
Honda CR-V RW and RT resale values in Malaysia — oil dilution history, CVT service records and accident damage are the biggest value killers.

Honda CR-V is one of the best-holding used SUVs in Malaysia despite being a premium-priced model new. The known oil dilution issue on the RW (2017–2022) does affect resale — but a car with documented clean oil history is worth significantly more.
What protects CR-V resale value
1. CVT fluid (HCF-2) on schedule — the most-asked question from buyers. 2. Oil change receipts every 5,000 km — proves the engine was never run with diluted oil for extended periods. 3. No accident history — the CR-V's larger body means repair costs are visible and significant. 4. Original factory colour — grey, silver and white hold best. 5. Working Honda Sensing (RT) — buyers test it before signing. 6. Tyre condition — 225mm tyres are expensive; buyers deduct full cost if worn.
The oil dilution factor
RW CR-V buyers always check: does the oil smell of petrol? Is the level above the max line? A history of 5,000 km oil changes shows the owner managed the dilution risk responsibly. If you have consistent short oil change receipts, disclose this proactively — it builds trust and protects your price. A RW with no service records and a strong petrol smell in the oil will be lowballed by every serious buyer.
