BR-V oil leaks follow the same pattern as the Jazz — valve cover gasket and drain plug are most common after 80,000–100,000 km. The VTEC solenoid o-ring is a secondary source.
Common leak sources and costs
Valve cover gasket: RM130–210. Drain plug rethread or replacement: RM35–65. VTEC solenoid o-ring: RM80–150. Any oil on a hot exhaust creates a burning smell that fills the 7-seat cabin — investigate promptly. Monthly oil level checks between services are the best early warning.
