Honda BR-V uses a 1.5L i-VTEC naturally aspirated engine across both generations — DD4 (2016–2022) and N7X (2022+). Engine oil spec is 0W-20 full synthetic. The NA engine is reliable and forgiving, but oil changes still matter for the CVT-dependent drivetrain.
Oil spec and change interval
Spec: 0W-20 full synthetic, API SN or SN+. Capacity: 3.7L with filter. Interval: every 5,000 km in city; 7,500 km highway. The 7-seat configuration adds load — heavier use means more thermal stress. Change oil on schedule and don't wait for the indicator. Cost at our workshop: RM150–230 including filter.
