Two Honda BR-V generations have been sold in Malaysia: DD4 (2016–2022) and N7X (2022+). Both use the same 1.5L i-VTEC engine but differ significantly in platform and size.
DD4 vs N7X — key differences
DD4 (2016–2022): Jazz-based platform, 195/65R15 tyres, HMMF CVT fluid, smaller and lighter. More affordable used. N7X (2022+): new dedicated 7-seat platform, 215/50R18 tyres, HCF-2 CVT fluid, larger cabin, better safety ratings, Honda Sensing available. N7X is the better 7-seater; DD4 is the better value. Both need strict CVT fluid discipline.
