BR-V 1.5L i-VTEC uses port injection — same as the Jazz. This means intake valves are washed with fuel during every combustion cycle, and carbon buildup is minimal compared to direct-injection engines.
Throttle body and injector cleaning
Carbon buildup on the intake valves is not a concern for the BR-V. Focus instead on: 1. Throttle body cleaning every 60,000–80,000 km (RM80–150) — keeps idle stable under heavy load. 2. Fuel injector cleaning every 80,000 km — ensures even fuel distribution across all 4 cylinders. These are especially worthwhile for a 7-seater that regularly runs at high load.
