BMW 7 Series Coolant Malaysia — HT-12
Blue HT-12 only — change every 4 years or 80,000 km. F01 N52: electric water pump and expansion tank common. F01 N63 V8: complex twin-turbo cooling circuit — two separate coolant loops. G11 B48: electric water pump. Malaysia workshop cost RM 400–800 for full system flush — larger capacity than smaller models.

7 Series Coolant
- BMW coolant (blue) — change every 4 years
- B58: electric water pump is a known wear item — inspect for leaks at every service
- N63 V8: check thermostat housing — known to crack and leak on high-mileage cars
Electric Water Pump — Malaysia Risk
The B58 3.0T or N63 4.4T V8 engine in the 7 Series uses an electronically controlled water pump rather than a mechanical belt-driven pump. In Malaysia's high ambient temperatures, the pump runs longer and works harder than in Europe. Early failure signs — slight temperature gauge rise, intermittent CBS cooling warning — are detectable via ISTA before the pump fails completely. Proactive replacement at 80,000 km is cheaper than an overheating repair.
