7 Series Brake Disc

  • Heavy vehicle: discs wear faster than smaller BMWs — replace at minimum thickness
  • Front disc cost: RM 900–1,400 per pair (OEM); RM 650–950 (aftermarket Brembo)

Surface Rust and Disc Life in Malaysia

High humidity in Malaysia means brake discs surface-rust quickly after rain or overnight — this is normal and clears within a few applications of the brakes. Concern yourself with disc minimum thickness (stamped on disc edge), deep radial grooves and warping felt as pedal pulsation. On the 7 Series, always replace brake pads and discs as a pair when either is at the wear limit. Using aftermarket coated discs (Brembo, DBA) reduces surface rust significantly.
