BMW 7 Series Battery Replacement Malaysia — AGM + ISTA
F01/G11 battery in boot — AGM only, 105–110Ah for heavier luxury load. IBS ISTA registration absolutely mandatory. F01 has secondary battery for comfort systems on some variants — both must be registered. Malaysia AGM installed RM 800–1,400. Without registration luxury systems (seat memory, comfort close, windows) malfunction.
7 Series Battery
- Spec: AGM 90Ah or 105Ah — must register via ISTA
- G11/G12 high electronics load: battery drains faster — check SOH annually

AGM Battery Registration — Critical Step
Never skip ISTA battery registration after replacing the 7 Series's AGM battery. Without registration, the DME continues charging the new battery at the old battery's degraded profile — this overcharges and destroys a new AGM within 6–12 months. Registration takes 5 minutes via ISTA and resets the charging algorithm. Also note: in Malaysia's stop-start city driving, a 7 Series with a weak battery often strands owners in carparks or toll plazas — battery health check is included in every 4M Car Care service.
