BMW 4 Series Timing Chain Malaysia — F32 N20 Critical
F32 420i/428i N20: same catastrophic chain stretch as F30 3 Series — cold-start rattle is the warning. Full chain kit Malaysia RM 3,000–5,500. G22 B48: much improved design, low risk. G22 M440i B58: inline-6 chain is robust, very low risk. Never buy a rattling F32 without chain replacement budget.

Cold-Start Rattle — Act Fast
A cold-start timing chain rattle lasting more than 1–2 seconds on the 4 Series's N20 engine is a critical warning sign. The stretched chain can jump a tooth and cause catastrophic valve/piston contact damage — a potential engine write-off.
