BMW 4 Series Brake Pads Malaysia — F32/G22
Front pads 40,000–60,000 km; rear 60,000–80,000 km. M440i larger calipers: OEM pads RM 380–600/axle. Standard 420i/430i pads RM 220–400/axle. CBS brake wear sensor. Electronic rear caliper on all variants — ISTA EPB retraction required for rear pad change.
4 Series Brake Pads
- Front: Brembo / Textar — replace at 3 mm
- Rear: EPB (electronic park brake) — requires ISTA piston retraction
- M440i / M Sport brakes: larger rotors — slightly higher parts cost

City Driving and Brake Wear in Malaysia
Stop-and-go traffic in KL, PJ and Johor Bahru wears brake pads 30–40% faster than highway driving. The 4 Series's front pads bear most of the braking load in city conditions. CBS brake pad monitoring uses a wire sensor, but in city driving the sensor can trigger before the pads are actually at minimum — check actual pad thickness at every service. Rear EPB calipers require ISTA for piston retraction during pad replacement.
