Pre-Purchase Checklist
- Toyota Techstream SOH test: request hybrid battery state-of-health report — below 80% SOH = negotiate or avoid
- 12V battery age: check manufacture date sticker on battery — if over 3 years, budget for replacement immediately
- OBD scan (all ECUs): hybrid system, inverter, ABS, VSC — any active HV fault codes are deal-breakers
- Cold start: listen for timing chain rattle (rare on Prius); check EV battery gauge — should show at least 8/12 bars charged
