Toyota Prius Timing Chain Guide Malaysia
2ZR-FXE uses a timing chain — no scheduled replacement. On-time oil changes protect the chain through 200,000+ km.
Both ZVW30 (1NZ-FXE) and ZVW50 (2ZR-FXE) use timing chains — no scheduled replacement. Chain stretch is very rare on Prius because the engine runs a lower proportion of the time vs a conventional car (EV mode reduces engine hours).
