The V8 alternator on Land Cruiser is high-output (160A+) to power the extensive electrical systems. Failure is rare before 150,000 km but signs to watch: battery warning light, flickering dashboard lights, slow power window operation.

- Alternator output test: RM 50–80 — simple battery/charging system test at our workshop
- OEM replacement alternator: RM 1,200–2,000 installed — Denso unit recommended
- Remanufactured alternator: RM 600–900 — acceptable if from reputable rebuilder with warranty
