Use Toyota SLLC coolant. The V8 generates significant heat; coolant condition directly affects operating temperature.
The V8 generates enormous heat — coolant maintenance is non-negotiable. Use Toyota Super Long Life Coolant (pink) or equivalent OAT coolant. Change every 4 years or 80,000 km. Never mix coolant types.
Cooling System Service
- Coolant flush and refill: RM 150–250 — use pressure flush to clear old deposits
- Water pump inspection at 80,000 km — LC200 water pump seal can start weeping at high mileage
- Thermostat replacement: RM 200–350 — replace if coolant temp runs high or inconsistent
