Toyota Harrier Inverter Coolant Guide Malaysia (Hybrid)
Neglecting Harrier hybrid inverter coolant causes overheating damage over RM 5,000. Maintenance schedule and what fluid to use.
Harrier 2.5L Hybrid has a separate inverter cooling circuit — distinct from the engine coolant loop. The inverter (power control unit) converts battery DC to motor AC and generates significant heat. Toyota specifies Toyota SLLC for both circuits, but the inverter circuit must be flushed separately and on its own schedule.
Inverter Coolant Service
- Flush interval: every 4 years / 80,000 km — do NOT skip even if engine coolant was just changed
- Fluid: Toyota SLLC (Super Long Life Coolant) — premix or concentrate diluted 50:50 with distilled water
- Cost: RM 180–280 for dual-circuit flush (engine + inverter together)
- Warning: neglected inverter coolant causes PCU overheating — P3000 / P0A93 hybrid codes and limp mode
