Toyota Harrier Engine Oil Guide Malaysia
M20A-FKS GDI uses 0W-20 SP full synthetic at 5.0L. Hybrid 2.5L uses the same spec at 4.8L. GDI means oil discipline matters more.
Harrier XU80 (both petrol and hybrid) uses 0W-16 fully synthetic oil — a lower viscosity than older Toyota models. Using 0W-20 or 5W-30 reduces the M20A-FKS/A25A-FXS engine efficiency and can affect VVT-iE (electric variable valve timing) performance.
Oil Details
- Toyota Genuine 0W-16 or Mobil 1 0W-16 — only options approved for Harrier XU80
- Change every 5,000 km (city) — do not extend to 10,000 km in Malaysian stop-go traffic
- Oil capacity: 4.3L (petrol 2.0L), 4.2L (hybrid 2.5L) — don't overfill
