Engine & Transmission
- Pull out dipstick — oil should be golden/light brown, not black or sludgy
- 3SZ-VE cold start — listen for VVT-i rattle for 2–3 seconds
- Drive in D and listen for CVT judder (2022+ models)
A/C & Body
- Test both front and rear A/C blowers
- Check cabin filter condition — many used Avanza have never had them changed
- Check for rust on sill and floor (KL flooding risk)
