Toyota Avanza Brake Disc Warp & Replacement Malaysia
Full-load emergency braking is the main cause of disc warp. Steering wheel vibration under braking is the clearest symptom.
Older Avanza has drum brakes at the rear. Newer (2022+) Avanza has disc brakes all around. Disc warping is the most common brake disc complaint at our workshop.
Warp Diagnosis & Repair
Symptom: steering wheel vibrates under braking. Avanza discs are relatively thin — resurfacing (skimming) is possible once, but replacement is usually better value. Front disc pair replacement: RM 220–360.
