Subaru Levorg Power Steering Service Malaysia
The Levorg VN uses an electric power-assisted steering (EPS) system, which is maintenance-free in terms of fluid — there is no power steering fluid to change. However, EPS systems can develop faults that trigger a warning light on the dashboard. Heavy vibration from rough roads or a significant knock can affect EPS sensor calibration. If the steering feels uneven, heavy, or the warning light illuminates, a diagnostic scan is required to identify the fault. EPS systems generally last the life of the vehicle with proper wheel alignment maintenance.

Subaru Levorg Power Steering
- Levorg EPS: FA20DIT Levorg uses EPS tuned for wagon weight; similar to WRX EPS but with more low-speed assist for family driving; Levorg steering is direct but not as sporty as WRX
- Levorg lane keep: EyeSight lane keep on Levorg is active above 65 km/h; applies steering torque to keep within lane; on Malaysian highways with variable lane markings, lane keep may hunt — adjust sensitivity or disable on poor-marking roads
- Levorg steering pull: if Levorg pulls to one side — alignment issue first (common after hitting kerb); second is EPS torque bias fault (rare); confirm with SSM4 EPS live torque data; tyre pressure check is always first step before alignment
- Levorg tie rod ends: wear at 80,000–100,000 km; worn tie rod causes steering play felt as looseness when changing lanes at highway speed; simple inspection by shaking front wheel at 9 and 3 o-clock position — detects worn tie rod or ball joint
