Subaru Levorg Coolant Service Malaysia

The CB18 turbocharged boxer engine generates significant heat and relies on a properly maintained cooling system. Subaru uses a long-life coolant; the first change is typically at 80,000 km or 8 years, then every 40,000 km or 4 years thereafter. In Malaysia's hot climate it is good practice to have coolant concentration and condition checked at every major service. Never mix different coolant types, and always use Subaru-approved coolant to protect aluminium boxer engine components.

Subaru Levorg Coolant

  • Levorg FA20DIT turbo: Subaru Super Coolant blue; turbo wagon — change coolant every 60,000 km or 3 years; highway-biased use means less severe stop-start heat cycling than WRX
  • Levorg EyeSight sensor coolant note: EyeSight cameras sit on windscreen — no direct relation to coolant; but overheating causes ECU to limit boost which can be confused with EyeSight fault; always check coolant when diagnosing Levorg power loss
  • Levorg boot load and cooling: Levorg used as a loaded wagon (family trips, camping gear) — heavier load means engine works harder and generates more heat; monitor coolant level more frequently for heavily loaded Levorg
  • Levorg coolant hose routing: wagon body means longer coolant hose runs vs sedan; inspect all hose joints at 60,000 km; turbo coolant return hose is a common failure point — small leak turns into large one quickly
