Subaru Levorg Fuel Pump Service Malaysia
The Levorg VN's CB18 direct injection system uses a high-pressure fuel pump in addition to the in-tank low-pressure fuel pump. The high-pressure pump is driven by the camshaft and delivers fuel at the pressure required for direct injection. Symptoms of fuel pump issues include hard starting, stuttering under acceleration, or an engine that cuts out under load. Using quality RON 97 fuel and avoiding running the tank very low reduces wear on the in-tank pump. Fuel pump failures are not common on the VN but warrant investigation when symptoms appear.

Subaru Levorg Fuel Pump
- Levorg FA20DIT fuel pump: same two-pump system as WRX — low-pressure in-tank pump and high-pressure cam-driven DI pump; direct injection demands high fuel pressure; both pumps must be healthy for correct FA20DIT operation
- Levorg pump diagnosis: if Levorg has hesitation or lean codes — check in-tank pump pressure first; if in-tank pressure is good but lean codes persist — inspect high-pressure DI pump cam follower wear; DI pump cam follower is a known wear item on FA20DIT
- Levorg FA20DIT cam follower: HPFP cam follower on FA20DIT can wear if oil changes are delayed; worn cam follower reduces HPFP stroke — causes lean condition and rough idle; inspect at 80,000 km; replace if worn
- Levorg pump access: in-tank pump under rear cargo floor hatch; Levorg wagon provides good access compared to sedan; replace pump module assembly including strainer; HPFP on engine requires engine bay access — professional job
