Nissan Almera Timing Chain Malaysia — VG20 / HR10DDT
Both B17 VG20 and N18 HR10DDT use a timing chain (no belt). VG20: chain rattle on cold start is a known symptom at 100,000+ km — caused by worn tensioner or chain stretch from oil neglect. HR10DDT turbo chain: generally holds up better but oil changes at 10,000 km max are essential. Chain kit replacement. Prevention: use correct oil spec, never skip oil changes.
