The 4A91 uses a timing chain rated for the engine's life. With 5W-30 full synthetic oil at 10,000 km intervals, the chain should not require attention. Cold-start rattle clearing within 3 seconds is normal oil pressurisation. If rattle persists after warmup, inspect the chain tensioner and VVT actuator.
