Mitsubishi Xpander Workshop Cases Malaysia — 4M Car Care
Real cases from our Bandar Sri Damansara workshop: (1) Xpander 72,000 km — rough idle and hesitation at low speed; throttle body completely coated in carbon; cleaned and idle relearn performed, smooth idle restored immediately. (2) Xpander 88,000 km — ATF never changed, 1-2 shift hesitation and occasional slip; ATF drain-and-fill with SP-III, shift quality improved significantly after 200 km break-in. (3) Xpander 100,000 km — cold start engine rattle for 2 seconds; timing chain tensioner worn; tensioner replaced, rattle gone on next cold start. (4) Xpander 95,000 km — A/C weak to rear passengers, cabin filter completely blocked with dust; new cabin filter and regas restored full cooling to all rows.
Xpander CVT + Rear Bushing Service — Sri Damansara
A 2020 Xpander at 48,000 km presented with rear suspension knocking and mild CVT shudder on light throttle. Rear torsion beam bushings were worn on both sides. Replaced both rear bushings, performed CVT fluid drain-and-fill with Mitsubishi CVTF-J4, changed engine oil (5W-30), air filter, and cabin filter. Post-service drive confirmed both issues resolved — ride was noticeably smoother and the CVT shudder eliminated.
