Mercedes-Benz S-Class 9G-Tronic ATF Service Malaysia — W222/W223
S-Class 9G-Tronic uses MB 236.15 ATF. The flagship sedan's gearbox must shift seamlessly — degraded ATF causes hunting and hesitation that undermines the S-Class experience. Service every 40,000 km.

All S-Class W222 and W223 in Malaysia use the 9G-Tronic automatic transmission with MB 236.15 ATF. This is the same fluid as C-Class W205, E-Class W213 and GLC. The S-Class has a larger fluid capacity due to the bigger torque converter required for the V6/V8 engines.
Service Specification
- Fluid: MB 236.15 9G-Tronic ATF
- Capacity: approximately 9–10 litres for full flush on V6/V8 S-Class
- Interval: every 40,000–60,000 km — do not treat as lifetime fluid
- Cost at 4M Car Care: RM 550–700
Judder on S-Class
S-Class 9G-Tronic judder is the same mechanism as C/E/GLC — ATF friction modifier depletion. However, on an S-Class the judder tends to be more pronounced because the V8 produces more torque. Full ATF flush resolves the judder in most cases. If the gearbox has been run very long on degraded fluid, a mechatronics adaptation reset after flush is recommended.
