Mercedes-Benz S-Class Engine Oil Guide Malaysia — V6/V8/Inline-6
W222 M276 V6 and M278 V8 use MB 229.5 (5W-30); W223 M256 inline-6 requires MB 229.6 (0W-20). Premium engines demand premium oil — never compromise on spec to save cost on an S-Class.
S-Class engine oil specification depends on engine variant. V6 and older V8 use MB 229.5; W223 S-Class with M176/M177 V8 uses MB 229.6. V8 engines have large sump capacity — use only approved full-synthetic oil.

Top-Up Between Services
V8 engines can consume up to 0.5L per 5,000 km under normal use. Check oil monthly on W222/W223 S-Class. Always carry the correct oil spec — a convenient 1L bottle in the boot is good practice. Never top up with the wrong grade.
