Mercedes AGM Battery — Malaysia Replacement
Mercedes-Benz models require AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries — standard flooded batteries are NOT compatible with the battery management system (BMS). The BMS must be recoded after any battery replacement — without coding, the alternator charges incorrectly and the stop-start system malfunctions. Budget RM 550–900 for an AGM battery with coding at an independent workshop. In Malaysia's heat, expect battery life of 2–3 years (AGM handles heat better than flooded but still degrades). Varta, Bosch, and OEM Mercedes are recommended brands.
