9G-Tronic (W205/W206/GLC/GLE) requires MB 236.15 fluid — no substitutes. The older 7G-Tronic (W204) uses MB 236.11 or 236.12. Using generic ATF causes harsh shifting, hunting between gears, and premature clutch wear. The 9G-Tronic is not listed as a 'lifetime fill' by some dealers — change every 40,000–60,000 km. A W205 9G-Tronic ATF change (RM 500–700 at an independent workshop) resolves most jerky shift complaints. Budget RM 800–1,200 for the service at an authorised dealer.
