Engine mount wear on the E-Class produces the same symptoms as on C-Class but is more noticeable due to the car's refinement expectations: vibration through the steering wheel at idle, thud when selecting drive or reverse, and vibration under load. The heavier M272 V6 is harder on its mounts than the 4-cylinder.
Cost
W212 conventional rubber mounts: RM 700–1,100 for the complete set (2 engine + 1 transmission mount) including labour. W213 hydraulic mounts: RM 950–1,500 for the complete set — the hydraulic mounts are more expensive to source but provide noticeably better vibration isolation when new.
