Mercedes-Benz CLA DCT Fluid Service Malaysia — 7DCT/8DCT
CLA wet DCT requires DCT-specific fluid — not standard ATF. The jerky low-speed behaviour many CLA owners accept as 'normal' is often a sign of degraded DCT fluid. Service every 40,000 km in Malaysia.
CLA transmission fluid depends on the generation and variant. C117 CLA may have 7DCT or 7G-Tronic. C118 CLA always has 7DCT. Using the wrong fluid type is a common and costly mistake.
Identifying Your Gearbox
- C117 CLA 200 (after 2016): likely 7DCT — confirm via build plate
- C117 CLA 250 (pre-2016): likely 7G-Tronic — uses MB 236.6 ATF
- C118 CLA (all): 7DCT — uses DCT-specific fluid, NOT MB 236.15
Service Intervals
- 7DCT: flush every 40,000–60,000 km with correct DCT fluid
- 7G-Tronic: flush every 40,000 km with MB 236.6
