Case 1 — W204 C200, 95,000 km: Cold-start rattle, fault codes P0016/P0017
Owner noticed a cold-start rattle for about 6 months before bringing the car in. XENTRY scan confirmed P0016. Timing chain kit (OEM: Iwis) was installed including chain, tensioner, all guides, sprockets and a fresh oil seal. The rattle disappeared immediately after repair. Case 2 — W205 C200, 65,000 km: Gearbox jerk, never had ATF change
Owner complained of a noticeable jerk when moving off in traffic and occasional hunting between 1st and 2nd gear. Service history check showed the ATF had never been changed since new. ATF flush with MB 236.15 fluid performed. After the service, gearbox shifts were smooth and the jerk was eliminated. Total cost: RM 580.
Case 3 — W205 C250, panoramic roof water leak
Customer came in after noticing wet carpet on the driver's side floor mat after heavy rain. XENTRY scan showed no fault codes. Physical inspection revealed both front panoramic sunroof drain tubes blocked with leaf debris and dirt. Drain tubes cleaned and flushed. No parts required — only labour. Total cost: RM 120.
Case 4 — W204 C200, battery dead, no coding done previously
Vehicle brought in by tow truck — completely dead battery. Investigation revealed the battery had been replaced 14 months earlier at a budget workshop without IBS coding. The alternator had been overcharging the new battery at 15.2V instead of the correct 13.8–14.4V, killing the battery prematurely. New AGM battery installed with proper IBS coding. Alternator output confirmed normal at 13.9V post-coding. Total cost: RM 680.
