Mercedes C-Class Coolant Specification
All C-Class generations use MB 325.6 specification coolant — a silicate-free, OAT (Organic Acid Technology) formulation. It is typically blue or pink/red depending on manufacturer. Never mix with green silicate-based coolant — doing so causes gel formation and blocks the radiator.
Service Interval & Warning Signs
- Change every 3 years or 60,000 km
- W204: watch for coolant loss from plastic thermostat housing — common hairline crack after 8 years
- W205/W206: check expansion tank cap seal annually — cheap fix if caught early
