Two generations of A-Class W177 are found in Malaysia's market. Both are well-suited to Malaysian conditions but have different powertrains, features and maintenance costs.
A-Class W177 Phase 1 (2018–2022)

- A200: M270 1.3T (163 hp), 7DCT, front-wheel drive, MB 229.51 oil

Buying Advice
The A200 is the sweet spot in Malaysia's used market — adequate power, lower insurance cost than A250, and the M270 engine has a longer track record. An A250 gives noticeably more performance but oil change cost is slightly higher (229.6 vs 229.51) and tyre wear is greater. Both are good used buys with service history.
