Mercedes-Benz A-Class Engine Mount Replacement Malaysia — W177
A-Class engine mounts last 80,000–120,000 km. The 3-cylinder M260 in A180 produces more vibration than 4-cylinder engines — worn mounts make this noticeably worse at idle.
Engine mounts on the A-Class W177 are hydraulic type. When worn, they transmit engine vibration directly into the cabin — felt as a buzz through the steering wheel and floor at idle or light throttle.
Signs of Worn Mounts
- Vibration felt through steering wheel at idle
- Clunk on gear engagement (D or R from Park)
- Increased cabin noise at low rpm
- Visible cracking or oil seep on the mount body (inspection during oil change)
Replacement Cost
- Engine mount (each): RM 350–550 parts
- Labour (both mounts): RM 200–300
- Replace both at the same time — if one is worn, the other is usually close behind
