Case 1 — A200 W177, 38,000 km: Severe judder on every pullaway in school-run traffic
Owner had complained to the authorised dealer who said 'normal for DCT'. Brought to 4M Car Care for second opinion. XENTRY scan: no stored faults. 7DCT fluid: original factory fill, dark and smelling of burnt friction material. Full 7DCT fluid flush with correct DCT-spec fluid. Judder eliminated after 500 km of re-adaptation. Owner informed dealer's diagnosis was incorrect. Total cost: RM 420.
Case 2 — A250 W177, 72,000 km: Rough idle + hesitation on light throttle
Owner noticed rough idle and a 'miss' feel between 1,500–2,500 rpm for several months. XENTRY scan: no active fault codes, one historical P0300 (random misfire). Borescope inspection of intake valves showed 2–3 mm carbon deposit on all four intake valves. Walnut shell blasting performed (intake manifold removed). After clean, idle smooth and hesitation gone. Spark plugs also replaced at the same time (original, 72,000 km). Total cost: RM 1,050.
