The fuel pump is responsible for delivering petrol from the tank to the engine at the correct pressure. When it weakens or fails, your car may struggle to start, stall on the highway, or feel sluggish under acceleration — problems that get worse in Malaysia's stop-start traffic.

• Hard starting — engine cranks but takes unusually long to fire up
• Engine sputtering or misfiring at highway speeds above 90 km/h
• Sudden stall that restarts after a few minutes (pump overheating)
