Buying a Used BMW X4 Malaysia — Checklist
F26 N20 checklist: cold-start chain rattle (walk away), expansion tank condition, ATF and transfer case fluid colour. F26 N55: charge pipe and VANOS codes via ISTA. G02 B48: electric water pump hours, carbon score. M40i: transfer case fluid. All: full ISTA scan, service history mandatory.
X4 Used Car Checklist
- ISTA scan: same as X3 — check xDrive module, timing chain codes (N20), ATF health
- F26: cold-start N20 rattle test mandatory
- xDrive: tight circle test — no binding, clunk, or vibration
- Drivetrain fluid records: transfer case + diff service history
Pre-Purchase Inspection at 4M Car Care
