BMW X4 Air Conditioning Malaysia
F26 uses R134a; G02 uses R1234yf. Coupe roofline on X4 traps more solar heat than X3 in Malaysia parking — A/C works harder. Compressor RM 1,200–2,600. Cabin filter every 15,000 km. Panoramic roof (if equipped) drain tubes prone to blockage — clean annually.

X4 A/C Service
- F26: R134a — regas RM 180–250
- G02: R1234yf — regas RM 350–480
- Cabin filter every 20,000 km
R1234yf vs R134a in Malaysia
Newer X4 variants (post-2017) use R1234yf refrigerant, which costs significantly more to regas than the older R134a. Do not mix refrigerant types — this damages the A/C compressor and seals. Always confirm which refrigerant your specific X4 uses before any A/C service. In Malaysia's year-round heat, the A/C compressor works nearly continuously — annual A/C inspection at 4M Car Care is recommended to catch compressor wear and refrigerant leaks early.
