Toyota Vios Generations Compared — XP90 vs XP150 vs XP210
Which generation of Toyota Vios should you buy? XP90 (2007–2013), XP150 (2013–2019) and XP210 (2019–present) compared on reliability, running costs, features and Malaysian used car prices.

Three generations of Toyota Vios have been sold in Malaysia. Each suits different buyers depending on budget, priorities and intended use.
XP90 (2007–2013) — The Reliable Classic
1NZ-FE engine + 4AT or 5MT. Simpler mechanics, no CVT to worry about. Watch for bodywork rust and 4AT slippage past 150,000 km. Used prices: RM 15,000–30,000.
XP150 (2013–2019) — The Modern CVT Era
2NR-FE + Super CVT-i. More modern interior and safety kit. J variant adds sunroof and 16-inch alloys. Main concern: CVT judder from neglected fluid. Used prices: RM 28,000–60,000.
XP210 (2019–present) — The Safety-First Generation
Same 2NR-FE but with refined NVH and Toyota Safety Sense (autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning on J spec). Best overall package. Used: RM 60,000–90,000; New from RM 77,200.
