Engine mounts secure the engine and transmission to the chassis and absorb vibration. When the rubber deteriorates — typically after 80,000–100,000 km — vibration transfers into the cabin and gear changes feel harsh.
Signs of Worn Engine Mounts
- Excessive cabin vibration at idle — especially at traffic lights
- Clunking when shifting into Drive or Reverse
- Engine visibly shifting when accelerating hard
Cost
Vios has 3 mounts (front, rear, transmission). Replace all together when one fails — RM 80–150 each (parts) + RM 150–250 labour for all three.
