Toyota Sienta Oil Leak Malaysia
Sienta 1NZ-FXE common oil leaks: valve cover gasket (most common at 80,000+ km), front crankshaft seal, and PCV hose. Hybrid: also inspect HV battery coolant loop (separate from engine coolant). Malaysia repair RM 200–600.
Oil leaks on Sienta 1NZ engines are generally minor and appear at higher mileage (100,000+ km). The 1NZ-FE and 1NZ-FXE engines are known for their longevity but do develop common seepage points with age. Early detection keeps repair costs low.
Common Oil Leak Points
- Valve cover gasket: most common on 1NZ-FE — oil seeps at top of engine; fix: RM 150–250
- Crankshaft front oil seal: develops slow seep at 120,000+ km — look for oily residue on timing cover
- Oil drain plug: common on high-mileage units with overtightened or reused aluminium crush washer — replace washer every oil change: RM 2–5
- Hybrid 1NZ-FXE: additional check on electric motor shaft seals at 150,000+ km — rare but inspect if oil smell noticed from under car
