Petrol uses SLLC pink coolant; hybrid has a separate inverter coolant loop. Never mix them. First change at 5 years.
Corolla Cross hybrid has two separate coolant systems: one for the engine and one for the power electronics (inverter). Both are critical and must never be mixed.
Engine Coolant — Toyota SLLC Pink
First change at 5 years from new, then every 3 years. Use only Toyota Super Long Life Coolant (pink/red). Never mix with green or blue coolant — different inhibitor chemistry can precipitate and block coolant passages.
Inverter Coolant — Separate Circuit
The hybrid power inverter has its own cooling loop with its own reservoir. Neglecting this leads to inverter overheating — a repair that costs RM 5,000–10,000. Change schedule mirrors engine coolant: 5 years then every 3 years. Use Toyota Genuine Inverter Coolant.
