The C-HR Hybrid inverter converts DC battery power to AC for the electric motor. The inverter has its own water-cooling circuit separate from the engine cooling. Check the inverter coolant reservoir (a smaller, separate tank under the bonnet) every 20,000 km.

- Use Toyota SLLC (pink) — same fluid as engine coolant, different circuit
- Change every 4 years — do both engine and inverter coolant at the same service for convenience
- Inverter overheating (rare): power reduction warning, hybrid system fault code — check coolant level first
