C-HR uses an electric A/C compressor — powered by the hybrid 12V and HV system — which runs independently of the engine. If A/C is not cold, the issue is usually low refrigerant or a faulty electric compressor.
A/C Troubleshooting
- Refrigerant top-up (R134a): RM 80–150 — check for leaks before refilling
- Electric compressor: does not make mechanical noise — no belt squeal; fault shows as fault code only
- Electric compressor replacement: RM 1,500–2,500 — expensive but very rare to fail before 150,000 km
