Subaru WRX STI Radiator Service Malaysia
The WRX STI radiator must handle both engine and turbo heat loads, especially in Malaysia's climate. Inspect the radiator for fin damage, leaks, and blockages at every major service. Flush and replace coolant every 2 years to prevent corrosion buildup inside the radiator. An upgraded aluminium performance radiator is a popular modification for STIs used in any track or spirited driving.

Subaru WRX STI Radiator
- STI EJ257 radiator: EJ257 generates significant heat at full boost; STI radiator sized larger than WRX; coolant flush every 80,000 km is critical on EJ257 — old coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and accelerates aluminium engine corrosion
- STI intercooler: front-mount intercooler (FMIC) on VA STI; FMIC more efficient than WRX TMIC under sustained boost; inspect FMIC for physical damage, bent fins, and inlet/outlet pipe connections at each major service
- STI oil cooler: EJ257 has front-mounted engine oil cooler in the grille area; oil cooler reduces oil temperature under track use; inspect oil cooler for fin damage and pipe leaks; oil cooler hoses replace at 100,000 km
- STI track cooling: after track session, do a cool-down lap at reduced speed before switching off; abrupt shutdown after high heat stresses cooling system; idle for 2–3 minutes to allow cooling circulation before shutting off engine
