The EJ257 requires fully synthetic 5W-40 or 10W-40 engine oil meeting API SN or SP specification, with a capacity of approximately 6.4 litres including filter. The EJ257 is known for being hard on oil — change every 5,000 km if you drive spiritedly or track the car, or every 7,500 km for normal road use. Never extend beyond 7,500 km intervals on a turbocharged boxer engine.
