Subaru WRX STI Real Repair Case Studies Malaysia
At 4M Car Care, our technicians have handled numerous WRX STI EJ257 cases. Case 1: A 2017 STI at 98,000 km — pre-emptive timing belt and water pump kit replacement; inspection revealed the original belt had minor cracking, confirming the 100,000 km interval is correct. Case 2: A customer purchased a used 2016 STI suspecting head gasket issues — our diagnostic found elevated coolant pH and slight combustion gas presence; early intervention prevented full gasket failure. Case 3: Routine DCCD and all-differential fluid service on a 2019 STI revealed the DCCD fluid was heavily contaminated at 80,000 km, likely due to missed service. Case 4: A 2015 high-mileage STI presented with oil leaking from both cam seals and the front crankshaft seal — a complete front seal refresh with timing belt replacement completed the repair in a single visit.

WRX STI EJ257 Full Service + Health Check — Kepong

Oil changed with Motul 300V 5W-30, 6MT gear oil replaced (75W-90 GL-4), brake fluid flushed, spark plugs replaced (NGK iridium). A slight turbo actuator rattle noted under load — advised owner to monitor and schedule turbo inspection within 10,000 km. Overall: healthy engine for its age and mileage.
