Subaru Outback Fuel Injector Service Malaysia
The FB25 engine uses port fuel injectors, which are less prone to clogging because fuel is sprayed onto the intake valves. The CB18 uses direct injectors, which operate at much higher pressure and can develop deposits over time. For FB25, injector cleaning every 60,000–80,000 km as part of a top-end service is generally sufficient. For CB18, professional ultrasonic injector cleaning at 80,000+ km can restore fuel atomisation and combustion efficiency. Using quality RON95 or RON97 fuel helps keep injectors cleaner.

Subaru Outback Fuel Injector
- Outback FB25 injectors: 4 port injectors; typical lifespan 150,000 km; Outback highway use keeps injectors cleaner than city XV/Forester; regular fuel quality matters — poor quality fuel accelerates deposits
- Outback EZ36 injectors: H6 EZ36 has 6 injectors; higher injector count means higher replacement cost if needed; EZ36 injectors are robust and rarely fail on well-maintained Outback; clean injectors at 100,000 km service
- Outback injector O-ring: at high mileage, injector O-rings and seals harden and crack; fuel smell inside Outback cabin may indicate injector O-ring leak; replace O-rings at 100,000 km service to prevent fuel vapour accumulation
