Forester Lineartronic CVT Fluid
The Subaru Lineartronic CVT requires Subaru Genuine CVT Fluid (TR580/TR690 spec). Do not use Nissan NS-3, Honda CVT fluid, or generic multi-vehicle CVT fluid — the Lineartronic chain-type CVT is different from belt-type CVTs and requires specific fluid chemistry. Change every 40,000 km; two drain-and-fill cycles are recommended to maximise fresh fluid ratio.
