Proton X70 Car Insurance Malaysia

Car insurance in Malaysia is mandatory under the Road Transport Act 1987. Understanding how premiums are calculated helps you make better decisions at renewal time — and avoid overpaying year after year.

• Sum insured (market value of your car) — higher value = higher premium
• Engine capacity (cc) — larger engines attract higher base premiums
• NCD (No Claim Discount) — starts at 0%, grows to 55% after 5 claim-free years
• Comprehensive vs third-party coverage — comprehensive protects your own car too

• Perodua Myvi 1.5 (market value ~): Comprehensive ~/year with 55% NCD
• Toyota Camry 2.5 (market value ~): Comprehensive ~/year with 55% NCD
• BMW 3 Series (market value ~): Comprehensive ~/year with 55% NCD

Protect your NCD — even a small claim can reset your NCD level and cost you far more in future premiums than the claim pays out. For repairs under consider paying out of pocket to preserve your NCD.
